As we continue the build-up to the inaugural Made in Denmark, stats guru Steve Doughty picks his five men to watch out for at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort...

Unsurprisingly with Denmark producing plenty of talent and their best crop of players featuring in Aalborg this week, a couple of home heroes, plus a recent winner, are featured below...

Lucas Bjerregaard
No player in the field will know Himmerland’s Back Tee Course better. The Aalborg resident, who celebrates his 23rd birthday on the event’s opening day is attached to the venue. The Dane graduated from the 2013 European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage and has a best finish of tied ninth in the Africa Open. Made his first ten cuts but then lost his form a bit. What better place to rekindle his season than in front of his home fans?

Thomas Björn
The hero of Danish golf. A winner this season at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. The highest ranked player in the field in terms of The Race to Dubai (third) and Official World Golf Ranking (24th). His last top ten finish was a tie for eighth in the BMW International Open. One of six this season. His very first professional victory came at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort, at the 1995 Himmerland Open on the European Challenge Tour. What he would give for a home win on The European Tour?

Michael Hoey
Will be very keen to continue with the feel good factor of Northern Irish golf with Rory McIlroy winning the last two European Tour events. Has won five times on The European Tour since 2009 and added more consistency to his game this season, which has been reflected by five top ten performances.

David Horsey
His 2014 season had produced four top ten finishes early on. Then after a bit of a lull, bounced back with a wire-to-wire victory in the M2M Russian Open, beating Damien McGrane in a play-off. Will be keen to continue the winning habit and collect his fourth European Tour title.

Marc Warren
Fresh from his second consecutive top 15 finish in the US PGA Championship, he arrives in Denmark with plenty of confidence. July and August have seen him play his best golf of the season, with a tie for third in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, followed by the excellent display at Valhalla. A win may not be far away.
