A dramatic finale at the 104th South African Championship Hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni, saw Andy Sullivan overcome home favourite Charl Schwartzel to win his first European Tour title in a play off. See all the interesting numbers from the final day here... 

1 – European Tour victory for Sullivan after his sensational win at Glendower GC

7 – shots back from Schwartzel at the start of the final round, the Englishman made up the difference to force a play off

67 – for the Nuneaton native in round four, a score that was only one shot off the round of the day

3 – a fine birdie three from Sullivan at the 18th on the first playoff hole left Schwartzel contemplating what might have been

5 – birdies on the final hole all day before Sullivan’s sensational recovery shot from the trees set one up for the 28 year old

14 – under par and no bogeys on the back nine this week for Sullivan 

1 - the first time three European players have won this event for three consecutive years. They are: Henrik Stenson (’12), Morten Ørum Madsen (’13) and Andy Sullivan

5 – shot lead for Schwartzel at the start of the day

2 – years running Schwartzel has not converted final round leads into victories at his home Championship

4 – shots went in four holes for Schwartzel from holes 14 to 18

10 – under par on the front nine for Schwartzel this week, who was one under par on the closing nine holes

3 – third place is Lee Slattery’s best finish on The European Tour since he won the 2011 Bankia Madrid Masters

4 – under par rounds for fourth place Pablo Martin Benavides (71-68-71-69)

5 – tied fifth is Matt Fitzpatrick’s best finish on The European Tour (the 20 year old shot a closing one over par 73 for a seven under total)

72 – for tournament host and five-time champion Ernie Els saw him finish in a tie for twentieth

66 – low round of the day belonged to Raphael Jacquelin

16 – the par four played the hardest on the final day, averaging 4.39

2 – the par five came in for some treatment, averaging just 4.56
