• His second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 50th European Tour event.

• Could move to fourth in the Official World Golf Ranking from sixth.

• His first European Tour victory since the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

• His second European Tour victory in his last six European Tour International Schedule events, dating back to the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

• This victory comes in his second appearance in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

• This victory beats his previous best performance in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship of tied 66th in 2015.

• Becomes the second American to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, following Chris DiMarco in 2006.

• Becomes the eighth different winner in the history of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

• Gains his first professional victory in the Middle East.

• Follows Fred Couples (1995 Dubai Desert Classic), Mark O’Meara (2004 Dubai Desert Classic), Tiger Woods (2006 and 2008 Dubai Desert Classic) and Chris DiMarco (2006 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship), as American winners of European Tour events in the Middle East.

• Is playing in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship on a sponsor’s invitation. Becomes the first player to win via an invitation on The European Tour since Matthew Fitzpatrick (2015 British Masters supported by Sky Sports).

• Becomes the second sponsor’s invitation to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship following Chris DiMarco in 2006.

• Becomes the 35th European Tour victory by a sponsor’s invitation in European Tour history.

• Becomes the tenth different American to receive a sponsor’s invitation and win a European Tour event. 

• Becomes the first American victory of the 2016 European Tour.

• Becomes the 204th American victory in European Tour history.

• Becomes the 38th different American to record multiple European Tour victories.

• Becomes the 11th different American to win multiple regular European Tour events, following his victory in the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

• Becomes the first American since Fred Couples (1995 Dubai Desert Classic and 1995 Johnnie Walker Classic), to win two regular European Tour events, for his first two European Tour titles.

• Becomes the first American winner on The European Tour since Zach Johnson at the 144th Open Championship, in July of last year.

• His sixth victory as a professional.

• His fourth victory since May 2015. They are: Players Championship and Deutsche Bank Championship on the US PGA Tour and the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open and 2016 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, on The European Tour.
