Paul Dunne was two shots clear of the chasing pack as the final round of the Trophée Hassan II neared its conclusion on Sunday.
Dunne, who began the day with a two stroke lead over nearest challenger Renato Paratore, extended his advantage to three shots after bouncing back from a bogey at the first with birdies at the second and fifth.
But the Irishman curled his par putt at the sixth just wide of the hole to drop his second shot of the day and slip back to eight under.
Dunne then safely parred the next three holes to reach the turn in 36.
Spain's Pablo Larrazábal and Englishmen Daniel Brooks and Paul Waring were in a share of second place on six under.
Ashley Chesters was the clubhouse leader after carding five birdies and a single bogey in his 69.
