The GolfSixes has once again captured the imagination of the golfing world at Centurion Club this weekend.
The innovative playing format combined with the addition of women's and mixed teams brought huge crowds to St Albans and caught the attention of golf fans all over the globe.
Here, we take a look at what social media had to say about one of the most exciting dates in the golfing calendar.
There were thousands of children among the huge crowds enjoying the sunshine and this young man got a special treat off one of the winners.
A hefty press pack was in attendance to see some of the world's best and they were impressed by the event's potential to grow the game.
Solheim Cup star Mel Reid was one the female stars to impress as she made it to the quarter-finals alongside playing partner Carlota Ciganda.
Thank you so much @europeantour for inviting me to @golfsixes this weekend. Had so much fun and hopefully us girls made a statement and put women’s golf on the map. As always love playing with @carlotagolf and thanks to @breanneloucks @jamielongman23 @bowesali for being amazing— Mel Reid (@melreidgolf) May 6, 2018
Columnist and all-round aficionado Stina Sternberg was a huge-fan of the shot-clock hole.
Giant digital shot clocks pulled up to the edge of the green as players putt—so ballsy, so fantastic. Everything about this event is what golf needs. pic.twitter.com/TMVASaQFkt— Stina Sternberg (@StinaSternberg) May 6, 2018
There was plenty more interest across the pond, too.
The GolfSixes truly does have the power to inspire a whole new generation of golfers.
Feeling inspired by the @GolfSixes we stopped at @HadleyWoodGC on the way home for 6 holes. The course was spectacular, the hospitality faultless as always. The perfect end to the perfect day. Let’s hope the momentum continues to the children’s first 2018 @BJGT event tomorrow! pic.twitter.com/zYPXQlDPir— Kelly Saddleton (@MotherOfGolfers) May 5, 2018
