Although Carnoustie still posed the stiffest test of the three courses over the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the greatest change in course difficulty came at St Andrews, which averaged more than two shots harder than it did in the first round. This only confirms the outstanding play from the half way leader Branden Grace, with his second round 67 on today's tougher St Andrews course. We can safely say that so far he has received no real benefit from any luck of the draw, but Genworth Analysis does suspect his lead may reduce as he takes on the might of Carnoustie for his third round.

• Michael Campbell and Pablo Martin have each taken just 12 strokes over the five Par 3 holes that they have played so far this week, truly world class at 2.40 for Par 3 Scoring. Branden Grace sits just behind on 2.50.
• Magnus A Carlsson leads the way on the Par 4 holes with a 3.58 average (86 strokes over 24 holes). Branden Grace lies in second place with 3.67 for Par 4 Scoring.
• Branden Grace and David Drysdale have averaged a superb 4.00 for Par 5 Scoring so far this week, but Thorbjørn Olesen really jumps off the page here, with a staggering 3.80 (four birdies and an eagle on the Par 5's).

• Considering the fact that they have both passed through Carnoustie, Richie Ramsay and Michael Campbell have performed best from the tee over the first two days, both hitting 83.9% of the fairways.
• Branden Grace is just about heading the way in the Genworth Greens in Regulation statistics, hitting 33 of 36 greens. But Chris Wood deserves a mention here, hitting 34 of 36 greens, having already passed through Carnoustie.
• Rich Beem, Alejandro Cañizares and Oliver Wilson lead the Genworth Putts per Round statistics, each taking 54 putts in total (an average of 27 per round). The leader Branden Grace sits just behind on 56 putts.
