Emiliano Grillo shoots out in front

Emiliano Grillo has a four shot lead after two rounds of the ISPS Handa Perth International, following a very impressive long game display. While the Argentine golfer does not rank first in any other Genworth Statistics category other than Stroke Average, he is very strong across the board. It is perhaps his extreme length at almost 304 yards Driving Distance combined with 75% Driving Accuracy that has set-up his score and helped him to stand out from the crowd. With three eagles already, he could well end up being another Lake Karrinyup CC runaway winner.

Special mentions should be given to the two USA participants that have made their way up the leaderboard ready for the weekend, as well as the leading Australian representative Jason Scrivener, who is leading the Genworth Greens in Regulation statistic with a very impressive 86.1%. It will be interesting to see how he progresses if he keeps up that level of consistency. Oh, and Michael Hendry has made no less than nine birdies in twenty Par 4 holes to lead the Genworth Par 4 Scoring statistic with a 3.65 average. That's incredible.

The following table shows the leaders in various Genworth Statistics categories after round 2.

Players by Country Leaderboard

With 142 players left in the field after round 2 the “Players by Country Leaderboard” is starting to take shape for the week. Obviously with Emiliano Grillo being the only Argentine player in the field, Argentina heads up the “Players by Country Leaderboard” as well. The USA have rocketed up into second place but it is perhaps the demise of South Africa which acts as the talking point. It has not been their week. After round 3 we will adjust the “Players by Country Leaderboard” so that it only includes players that have made the cut, which should really shake things up.
