Hanson and McIlroy remain out in front
With three rounds completed at the BMW Masters in Shanghai, Peter Hanson and Rory McIlroy remain out in front of an otherwise bunched field. Read our Genworth Stats Pack highlights below and then check out the Genworth Statistics of the leading players, ordered by round 4 tee times.
- Peter Hanson continues to lead the overall Genworth Putts per GIR and Putts per Round statistics for the week. He also tops the Genworth Par 5 Scoring statistic with ten birdies over the twelve Par 5 holes played (4.17 average). Peter has made 22 birdies so far (4 more than anyone else) and he will need to keep them coming in the final round if he is to keep the world number one at bay.
- Rory McIlroy has not yet birdied a single par 3 hole this week and does not lead any of the Genworth Statistics categories for the tournament. Yet he still sits just one shot behind Peter Hanson going into the final round. Rory is just so strong in every department of the game. It's as though he has a race car KERS button. If pushed he will shoot out in front and win the race.
- Looking at the other contenders, George Coetzee hit 17 greens in regulation in his third round 66 to move him up into third place with one round to go. He leads the Genworth Par 3 Scoring statistic alongside Simon Khan (2.75 average), while Shane Lowry leads the Genworth Par 4 Scoring statistic (3.63 average). Two of the European Tour’s biggest names continue their return to form as well. After topping the Genworth Greens in Regulation statistic last week in Perth, Paul Casey leads the Genworth Scrambles statistic after three rounds here (with 12 out of 13 successes). Martin Kaymer is driving the ball straighter than anybody (90.5% Driving Accuracy), and sits in fifth position after three rounds in the Genworth Greens in Regulation statistic (83.3%), just behind Louis Oosthuizen and Ian Poulter, who lead that category with 87.0% of greens hit.
