Favourite – Justin Rose

Player Profile >>

Naturally, this week’s host is the favourite heading into the week. The Englishman chose Walton Heath to stage the 2018 event as it is a course he really loves, and when you take his current form into account, you can see why he is such a strong candidate for fantasy teams this week.

Coming off the back of a Ryder Cup triumph with Team Europe, winning the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup and having a brief stint at World Number One, Rose will be full of confidence for sure. A win here would be his first on the European Tour in more than a year, and his 11th overall on Europe’s top tier. Oh, and he could even regain that World Number One spot with victory here in Surrey.

Form horse – Lucas Bjerregaard

Player Profile >>

Lucas Bjerregaard has been consistently excellent on the European Tour this season, and his patience was rewarded last week with a win at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Prior to that victory, the Dane had picked up three top ten finishes in his last four starts. When you add this to a further three top tens previously in the year, you get one of the Tour’s most consistent golfers.

The heathland layout this week bears some similarity to the links courses the now two-time European Tour winner was so successful on last week, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 27 year old challenge again this week.

Wildcard – Andrew Johnston

Player Profile >>

Fan favourite Andrew “Beef” Johnston may not have been in scintillating form this season, but the Englishman does have a fantastic record at Walton Heath. In the last three years, Beef has qualified for the US Open through European Sectional Qualifying at Walton Heath, averaging 67.7 shots per round. It is clear the Englishman enjoys himself around this golf course.
