The 51 year old's record breaking hole in one at the BMW Championship has been voted as the European Tour Shot of the Month for May.
It was one of the highest quality Shot of Month competitions we've ever had and it was that man, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, that won again.
The Spaniard's hole in one during the third round of the BMW PGA Championship was voted by My European Tour fans as the European Tour Shot of the Month for May, the second Shot of the Month award he's won this year. Jiménez's ace beat out competition from Chris Wood's BMW-winning hole in one, Tommy Fleetwood's albatross, Andrew Johnston's chest-bump hole in one and Tjaart Van Der Walt's hole out in Mauritius.
Miguel's ace was his the 10th of his career, setting a new European Tour record and beating the previous record held by Colin Montgomerie. Amazingly it was his second hole in one in two weeks and his third of the 2015 season, each accompanied by his new signature dance celebration.
"My irons are like darts," he told reporters after his round. "I've been very prolific in the past few months. You get the right distance, the right club, hit a good shot and that is the ingredients you need to make a hole-in-one.
"It's nice to have the record. I break so many records - it's nice to feel this way."
As for the fan portion of the competition, Niels Kortsen from Belgium won a £500 gift card for the European Tour shop thanks to his/her vote in the Shot of the Month competition.
