Chris Paisley has been named the Hilton Golfer of the Month for January after an outstanding month which saw him claim his maiden European Tour title and go toe-to-toe with some of the world’s best players in the Middle East.
In a new era for the Hilton Golfer of the Month award, the winner was selected in a poll of European Tour fans. The Englishman triumphed with an impressive 53 per cent of the votes after following up victory at the BMW SA Open hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni with back-to-back fifth place finishes in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
His countryman and reigning Race to Dubai champion Tommy Fleetwood was voted into second place after successfully defending his title in Abu Dhabi, while Li Haotong was third after sealing his second European Tour title in Dubai and becoming the first male player from China to break into the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Rounding off a great month for English players, Tyrrell Hatton took fourth place following a flawless debut appearance in the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM, winning three points from three to help Thomas Bjørn’s European team to a 14-10 win over Asia.
