Thailand and Australia share the early lead at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup with both four under par at the Mission Hills Resort on Hainan Island.

With the first day being played in a fourball format, Australian pair Richard Green and Brendon Jones made a good start with four birdies in their opening 10 holes.

They were joined at the top of the leader board by Thailand after Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat birdied the tenth to go with three more on the front nine.

USA, Denmark, Brazil, Sweden, Spain and France were all locked together on three under par.

Brazilian duo Adilson Da Silva and Lucas Lee had also been at four under but a bogey at the ninth saw them fall out of the lead.

South Africans Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel were one under par through seven holes with the Irish team of Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell on the same score having just got under way. Defending champions Italy were set to begin their first round shortly.
