After many seasons as part of The Asian Tour schedule, The Barclays Singapore Open joined The European Tour as a co-sanctioned event between the two in 2009. Ian Poulter took the title that year, before Australian Adam Scott added to his previous two wins at this event with a third in 2010. This was also the season that the event was first played over two courses at the Sentosa GC – The Tanjong and The Serapong – which also increased the field from the traditional 156 to 204 players. It was Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño who came out on top of this mammoth field in 2011, defeating Juvic Pagunsan in a Monday playoff at the end of only 54 holes, thanks to a number of rain and storm delays throughout the week.
