Graeme McDowell was two ahead with four to play and Paul Lawrie one up with two to go when play had to be suspended because of a lightning threat at the Volvo World Match Play Championship in Spain.
Lawrie won the first four holes against Nicolas Colsaerts, but the Belgian drew back to level before bogeying the 16th to fall behind again.
McDowell won three of the first four against Rafael Cabrera-Bello, but the Canary Islander recovered to only one down after 12 before losing the next to a nine foot birdie putt.
It was soon announced that play would resume at 13:20 local time.
