This week European Tour Weekly travels to Ohio for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational where the Firestone Country Club in Akron hosts for the 13th year running. ETW will be on the range with a full preview from the third World Golf Championship event of the season.
Last year in Akron Adam Scott picked up his first World Golf Championship title, doing so with caddie Steve Williams who had helped Tiger Woods dominate the event since its launch in 1999. Scott carded a bogey-free 65 to reach 17 under par to finish four clear of Luke Donald and Rickie Fowler. ETW caught up with Scott who talked us through his victory 12 months ago.
Also in Akron, ETW met up with Marcel Siem who was playing in his first ever World Golf Championship event. Siem is enjoying his most successful season so far on The European Tour racking up five top ten finishes to date, including his second European Tour win, which came at the Alstom Open de France at the start of July.
Our review this week comes from Austria for the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity. ETW will bring you the best of the action from the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg.
Our second review comes from Turnberry, which hosted the highlight of The European Senior Tour, The Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex. ETW brings you the best of the action as well as a profile on Brian Huggett, who won the very first staging of the event in 1998 at Royal Portrush. Earlier this year he was awarded Honorary Life Membership of The European Tour in recognition of his achievements across a career lasting more than half a century.
Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
