Kristoffer Broberg’s breath-taking run of form on the European Challenge Tour continued as the Swede led the Norwegian Challenge by three shots at the turn having negotiated the front nine in an incredible seven under par on the third day at Byneset GK.

That moved Broberg to 20 under par through 45 holes of the tournament as he was well on course for a record low score over 54 holes on the tour this year.

The 26 year old, who is on stunning form having won the Finnish Challenge last week by six shots, got off to an ideal start with an eagle at the par five first hole before birdies at the third, fourth and sixth were followed by a second eagle of the day at the seventh hole.

As a result, he moved three shots clear of his playing partner and former Ryder Cup player Oliver Wilson, who reached the turn in three under par after five birdies and a bogey.

Alvaro Velasco was struggling to maintain his momentum as he was three shots further back on 14 under par and level par for the day through nine holes.
