This week European Tour Weekly travels to Switzerland for the Omega European Masters. As always we will be on the range at Crans-Sur-Sierre to bring you all of the latest news prior to the event.
The Crans-Sur-Sierre course will be hosting the tournament once again, marking the 41st staging on The European Tour of one of the most picturesque venues in world golf. Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn will be returning as defending champion and we will be spending some time with Thomas where he recounts his victory and thirteenth European Tour title.
As always, we look back at the most recent European Tour event. This week that means a return to Scotland for the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles. The event took on an even greater significance as it represented the final chance for players to gain automatic qualification for Jose Maria Olazabal’s European Ryder Cup team. As always, we will highlight all of the significant action.
In a special feature, European Tour Weekly will hear from Jose Maria Olazabal as he makes his two picks for his team. With so much debate on whom his picks will be, the announcement of his wild card selections will be dramatic and ETW will be at Gleneagles to capture all the excitement.
Also in Scotland last week ETW caught up with Denmark’s Thorbjørn Olesen. He picked up his maiden European Tour victory earlier this year at the Sicilian Open adding to his growing reputation after finishing his rookie season last year in 48th place on The Race to Dubai.
Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
