Justin Rose lies just two shots off the lead after the opening round of the Emirates Australian Open.
The World Number Four from England shot a four under par 68 at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney to remain in touch with leader John Senden, whose 66 was two strokes better than anyone else managed on day one.
Rose shares second with Australians Richard Green, Kim Felton and Brendan Jones, as well as New Zealander Gareth Paddison.
Ryder Cup star Rose started on the back nine and birdied three of his first four holes.
Further gains at the 17th and 18th saw him turn in a brilliant 32, but he failed to build on his success on the way in - a solitary bogey at the third his only deviation from par.
