Thorbjørn Olesen’s ascent continued with a third round three under par 69 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

The 22 year old Dane, who won his maiden European Tour title in Sicily last year before playing alongside Tiger Woods at The Open Championship, where he finished ninth, goes into the final round at Abu Dhabi Golf Club tied for second.

His bogey-free effort left Olesen two behind Justin Rose, and he will now partner the World Number Five in the final round.

“I've never played with Justin I think, so definitely it will be nice to go out with him tomorrow,” said Olesen.

“I think the course suits me great. It's quite long and you need to be straight; and then the greens are tricky, and then I find it really easy the first two days to read the greens.

“Today I struggled a little bit, but it was a good day. I played really solid today.

“I won last year and that gave me a lot of confidence, and I had a few second places. I'm learning in every tournament, and it's been a really good process the last three years. Hopefully I can make a few birdies tomorrow and make it exciting.

“I'm going to try to be aggressive tomorrow. I thought I was pretty aggressive today but I didn't hole the putts I needed to - hopefully I can make a few more putts tomorrow.

“It looks like Justin's playing really well, but if I can get some birdies in quickly, I think it can be exciting.”
