Marcel Siem completed his third career European Tour victory this weekend, trusting the #1 ball in golf to complete a wire-to-wire victory at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco. The victory saw Siem headline a four win weekend for Titleist golf ball loyalists around the world, and marks the third consecutive week that at least four players trusting Titleist golf balls have topped leaderboards across worldwide professional tours. This week Siem was joined by D.A. Points (Pro V1x) on the PGA Tour, Scott Hend (Pro V1x) on the Asian Tour and Ho-sung Choi (Pro V1) on the Oneasia Tour.
Siem followed a stunning opening round of 8-under par 64 with rounds of 68 and 69 before closing with a 2-under par 70 to post a 17-under par 271 winning total at Golf du Palais Royal. Siem was joined towards the top of the leaderboard by Mikko Ilonen who relied on the feel and control of the New 2013 Pro V1x to finish in a tie for second with one other player. Siem’s win marks the eighth victory for Titleist golf ball loyalists through the first 13 events of the 2013 European Tour schedule, more than all other golf balls combined. Titleist was also the most relied upon golf ball in the field at the Trophée Hassan II, with 98 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 18.
On the PGA Tour, Titleist Pro V1x loyalists D.A. Points returned from a three hour rain delay to record four pars and complete the second PGA Tour victory of his career at the Shell Houston Open. His 16-under par total was enough for a one-shot victory from fellow Titleist golf ball loyalists Henrik Stenson and Billy Horschel, both of whom relied upon the New 2013 Pro V1x for their success. The trio were joined towards the top of the leaderboard by a host of Titleist golf ball loyalists, as 12 of the 15 players finishing in the top-10 and ties trusted a Pro V1 or Pro V1x. In addition to their top finishes, both Points and Stenson also earned invites to the Masters with their performances.
Elsewhere, Scott Hend (Pro V1x) captured his third Asian Tour title at the inaugural 2013 Chiangmai Golf Classic. Hend closed with a stunning final round 8-under par 64 to post a 20-under par winning total and seal victory by three shots. On the OneAsia Tour, Ho-sung Choi (Pro V1) returned from a weather delay of almost three hours to birdie the final hole and capture the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia PGA Championship by two strokes. New 2013 Pro V1x loyalists Juvic Pagunsan and Young-han Song completed a strong showing for Titleist golf ball players towards to the top of the leaderboard in Indonesia, tying for second place alongside one other player. These victories take Titleist’s 2013 worldwide golf ball win count to 35, compared to 7 for the nearest competitor.
