Chinese star Alex Wu Ashun earned a bottle of Ballantine’s 21 Year Old for shooting the lowest score in the second round of the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea.
The 27 year old, who opened with a 75, carded eight birdies and a solitary bogey in a seven under par round of 65 to catapult up the leaderboard to joint 13th place on four under par.
Jon Lane, Global Marketing Manager, Ballantine’s, presented Wu with his prize following the conclusion of the second round on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Tetsuji Hiratsuka of Japan received a bottle of Ballantine’s 30 Year Old for recording a hole in one at the 13th in round one on Thursday. In near darkness, Hiratsuka struck a perfect four iron to end his day on a high.
All five first-round leaders – Jean-Baptiste Gonnet, Johan Edfors, Kieran Pratt, Kim Gi-whan and Matthew Baldwin – received a bottle of Ballantine’s 21 Year Old after the conclusion of the first round on Friday.
