The European Tour’s Qualifying School, one of the toughest tests in golf, will return this September when eight stunning venues host more than 700 golfers hoping to fulfil their dreams of competing in The Race to Dubai.

The Qualifying School poses a gruelling examination for some of the world’s most promising golfing talent as well as to those looking to return to former glories, with the ultimate prize at stake Membership to The European Tour.

For many, the golfing marathon begins with Qualifying School First Stage, which takes place over four consecutive weeks, between September 10 – October 4.

Each week, two separate courses will play host to The European Tour hopefuls as they battle it out over four rounds to earn a place at Second Stage.

This year, First Stage returns to the eight venues which proved such a success in 2012.

The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course in Scotland will return to the schedule for the opening week of Qualifying School First Stage after a hugely successful debut last time around which saw it being warmly praised by many of the competitors. Once again, it will run concurrent with Golfclub Schloss Ebreichsdorf from September 10-13.

Wychwood Park in England and Golf & Country Club Fleesensee in Germany, a European Tour Destination, are next up from September 17-20, before Circolo Golf Bogogno in Italy and Ribagolfe in Portugal take on the honour from September 24-27.

Finally, Frilford Heath Golf Club in England, which will also host the English Amateur Championship in July, and French venue Golf d'Hardelot will host the last groups of hopefuls from October 1-4.

Mike Stewart, Qualifying School Director, is delighted to see the return of all eight venues for 2013 and believes they will provide an enjoyable, yet challenging, test for the players involved.

He said: “I’m delighted that all of our First Stage venues are continuing to give such great support to the Qualifying School, and I’m very proud of the line-up of superb layouts we have once again in 2013.

“It’s a testament to the process, and the interest that people take in it, that these venues want to get involved each year and really enjoy hosting the Qualifying School.

“One change being implemented this year is the reduction in the maximum field sizes at each venue from 120 to 102. This should assist the pace of play and help counter the problems of limited daylight with the aim of providing the participants with the best possible experience and opportunity to qualify.

“Hundreds of candidates enter the school each year and we pride ourselves on providing a truly thorough examination across all three stages, launched perfectly by the eight venues to be played during the opening phase again in 2013.”

Europeantour.com will have full clubhouse scoring from all eight First Stage venues to enable family and friends not able to support their players in person to follow all the action wherever they are, as well as full editorial coverage throughout.
