The BMW Show Stage in the tented village plays host to a number of event throughout the week including ‘Cotter’s Questions’ with the stars.
Actor Philip Glenister was the latest to be put through his paces alongside England’s Justin Rose as they fielded questions from a packed audience at Wentworth Club. Glenister, star of Ashes to Ashes, Life on Mars and Mad Dogs among others, is a patron for the official charity of the BMW PGA Championship – Shooting Stars CHASE, which supports families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th birthday.
The organisation helps more than 600 families in West London, Surrey and West Sussex, providing free care 365 days a year within homes and communities and in their two hospices in Hampton and Guildford.
The appointment of Shooting Star CHASE was led by the Tour Players’ Foundation board of Trustees who look to support charities local to venues of European Tour events and offering the opportunity of ‘changing children’s lives through golf’.
Others to have come under the spotlight this week included Ryder Cup heroes Lee Westwood, Nicolas Colsaerts and their Captain José María Olazábal entertaining the crowds.
