Five straight pars at the beginning of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational final round were enough to see Tiger Woods maintain his seven shot lead at Firestone Country Club.
The World Number One, closing in on an incredible eighth victory at the venue, had romped clear with a spectacular 61 on Friday and retained his advantage with a 67 yesterday.
No such pyrotechnics had been required on the last day, however, as he remained well clear of the chasing pack on 15 under par.
England’s Luke Donald had taken up the mantle of trying to apply some pressure to the 14-time Major Champion with birdies at the second and third, the latter after a fine approach to six feet.
At eight under Donald was one ahead of defending champion Keegan Bradley, American Jason Dufner and Swede Henrik Stenson.
