The European Tour this week enjoys a well earned break after a busy start to the season before it resumes once again next week at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.
This week European Tour Weekly reports from Rochester, New York on the final major of the year, the 95th US PGA Championship, held at the testing Oak Hill Country Club. ETW will bring you the best of the week’s action and show you how the title was won and lost.
Australian Brett Rumford was making his US PGA Championship debut at Oak Hill Country Club and ETW caught up with the 36 year old who has been enjoying an excellent season so far. Rumford won back to back European Tour titles at the Ballantine’s Championship and Volvo China Open earlier in the season and finds himself at 86th in the World Rankings, a career best.
In a special feature ETW takes a look towards the end of the 2013 season where four tournaments will combine to form ‘The Final Series’. The four tournaments are the BMW Masters, the WGC-HSBC Champions, the Turkish Open and finally the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. The total prize fund for ‘The Final Series’ is a staggering US$30.5 million.
As it celebrates its 25th year, ETW takes a look back at The Challenge Tour season so far as the players battle it out for one of 20 cards for next year’s European Tour.
