Schultes makes 7-star start at Qualifying School

Germany’s Georg Schultes got his bid to win a dream ticket to The 2014 European Tour of to a superb start after a seven under par 65 saw him soar into first place at Golfclub Schloss Ebreichsdorf in Austria.

Five birdies and an eagle on a flawless card saw Schultes leads the 93 competitors after round one of the First Stage in Austria, where 22 players (and ties) will win a place at Second Stage of the Qualifying School after Friday’s fourth round.

Three players – Henri Lipsanen of Finland, Rodolfo Cazaubon of Mexico and Austria’s Leonhard Astl – share second place going into Wednesday’s second round.

One of golf’s most demanding examinations, the Qualifying School will see over 800 hopefuls compete over three Stages in a bid to win one of 25 places on The European Tour’s Race to Dubai.
