Philip Eriksson and Jamie Moul lead the way at the Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course going into the final round of The European Tour’s Qualifying School First Stage – Section A.
Eriksson and Moul share the lead on seven under par 209 after third round scores of 71 and 69 respectively. Zane Scotland (70) and Gareth Wright (69) are just one shot back, but the focus on Friday’s final round will upon those players in and around 17th pace.
With the top 17 players (and ties) surviving until at least the next Stage of the Qualifying School Marathon, all that matters to the 49 players who survived the third round cut is the score required to keep the dream of playing on The European Tour alive.
With such stakes on the line, the final round of any Stage of the Qualifying School is among the most pressure-filled moments in any player’s career.
The men feeling the most pressure tomorrow at the Roxburghe will be the 15 players who are either on or one shot either side of the current qualifying mark of one over par.
