Round 4 of the KLM Open produced 25 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 70.63. Joost Luiten emerged as the winner from a playoff against Miguel Angel Jiménez. We analyse their performances and round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders.

Joost LUITEN -12

Joost Luiten converted four birdies against two bogeys on his way to a final round 68, eventually winning in a playoff against Jiménez in front of his home crowd. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 27 year old golfer from The Netherlands drove the ball well off the tee, but didn't hit quite as many Greens in Regulation as you would expect for a tournament winner (and a player with a reputation for being very strong from tee to green). His short game and putting however were superb, following on from a few weeks ago in Wales when he ranked 2nd for Scrambling. Overall, Joost scored extremely well across the different hole types (Par 3’s / Par 4’s / Par 5’s) and accumulated 21 birdies in total (only Ross Fishers converted more). With this second European Tour win of the year (and now third in his career) Joost climbs up to 11th on the Race to Dubai and also to the top of the Ryder Cup European Points List.

Miguel Angel JIMÉNEZ -12

Miguel Angel Jiménez converted five birdies against two bogeys on his way to a final round 67, being denied a 20th European Tour victory in the playoff. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 49 year old Spanish maestro produced a similar set of statistics to Luiten, driving the ball well without ranking very high for Greens in Regulation, and he too produced some exceptional short game statistics (in fact arguably the best of all the players overall). In terms of scoring, Miguel Angel ranked 1st for Par 4 Scoring for the week, but most impressive of all he dropped the fewest number of shots alongside McGrane (just five bogeys in total). With this runner-up finish he has now amassed no less than 50 European Tour career top three finishes.
