Round 2 of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship produced 133 sub-par rounds with field averages of 68.98 at St Andrews, 70.98 at Carnoustie and 68.13 at Kingsbarns. Tom Lewis leads on -15 with Joost Luiten following behind on -14. We analyse their performances and round up the half way Genworth Statistics leaders.

Tom LEWIS -15

Tom Lewis converted seven birdies on his way to a superb bogey free second round 65 at St Andrews, to lead by one at the half way stage. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 22 year old English talent still ranks a little low for the long game categories, but his short game and putting has been exceptional, plus he is one of twelve players to have dropped just a single shot over the first 36 holes. Tom has the more difficult Carnoustie still to play before the round robin is completed after Saturday’s third round, but with his current form, don’t be surprised to see him out in front as everything falls into place going into Sunday.

Joost LUITEN -14

Joost Luiten converted one eagle and seven birdies on his way to a blistering bogey free second round 63 at Kingsbarns. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 27 year old golfer from The Netherlands ranks 6th for Greens in Regulation and 4th for Par 5’s in 2, plus he ranks 2nd for Par 5 Scoring with an incredible 3.86 average (JB Hansen leads this category with an even better 3.80 average). With two wins under his belt already this year, Joost will no doubt be in confident mood going into the weekend. Note that a special mention should be given to Peter Uihlein who came within inches of the first ever 59 on the European Tour, at Kingsbarns.
