Nike Golf Tour staff athletes make up a quarter of the field this week at the Seve Trophy in Paris. Representing Great Britain and Ireland are Paul Casey, Tommy Fleetwood and Scott Jamieson, while Thorbjorn Olesen and Francesco Molinari are flying the flag for the European team.

Casey, who returned to winning ways at the Irish Open in June, is making his fourth Seve Trophy appearance alongside fellow Nike athlete Scott Jamieson, 2013 Nelson Mandela Champion, who represents GB&I for the second time.

Tommy Fleetwood is making his Seve Trophy debut after a tremendous season on Tour where he bagged his first professional victory at the Johnnie Walker Championship and secured four other top ten finishes.

“I’m delighted to represent GB&I and am really enjoying my first taste of team competition as a professional. I am going to learn from this experience and use it to further motivate me to achieve my goals. I won my first Tour event at Gleneagles on the same course that the 2014 Ryder Cup will be played on and it would be amazing to be a part of that team next year.” Said Tommy Fleetwood.

Returning for a third consecutive Seve Trophy appearance is Francesco Molinari who has enjoyed four top ten finishes this season including T9 at The Open Championship.  Also making his Seve Trophy debut is Thorbjorn Olesen, who has notched up four top 10’s this season including a 6th place at The Masters Tournament.

Said Olesen, “It's nice to represent Europe - that's a big honour, and hopefully we can beat Great Britain and Ireland. I've played a lot of soccer and I really enjoy team sports.  I think it suits my game and suits my brain, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Nike athletes are gaming the latest innovations from The Oven in pursuit of victory including brand new VR_S Covert 2.0 woods paired with the brand new RZN golf ball, available Spring 2014.

“To have five out of a possible 20 team members swinging the Swoosh is testament to the quality of the athletes we have representing Nike Golf on the European Tour.” Robin Murray, EMEA sports marketing director.
