Former winner José Manuel Lara moved into contention as the third round of the Hong Kong Open began in Fanling.
The 36 year old Spaniard claimed the first of his two European Tour victories here in 2007, but lost his card at the end of the 2013 season after 18 months without a top-ten finish.
Four behind South African leader Jbe Kruger at the halfway stage, Lara had three birdies over the first six holes of his third round to move to within one of the lead on six under par.
He was joined on that mark by Swede Joel Sjöholm – another player looking to get his full playing privileges back.
The 28 year old had four unanswered gains over his first 14 holes.
Kruger, who came home in 30 for a 66 on Friday, was set to begin his round shortly in the company of Welshman Stuart Manley.
