Started playing golf at the age of 12, and at 17 experienced playing in The 1992 Open Championship at Muirfield where he acted as a marker for first Roger Chapman and then John Daly over the final two rounds. Has become something of an expert in dramatic end of season finales, starting in 2003, when he narrowly missed out on retaining his European Tour card.
