José María Olazábal and Ryder Cup Europe made a special presentation to Medinah ahead of the final day singles in appreciation of the club’s warm welcome and hospitality to all Team Europe for The 2012 Ryder Cup.

Olazábal was joined by George O’Grady, Chief Executive of The European Tour, and European Ryder Cup Director Richard Hills to present a commemorative plaque and painting to Don Larson, Chairman of the Ryder Cup organising Committee, and Tony Graffia, President of Medinah Country Club.

The painting, depicting Samuel Ryder against the backdrop of Gleneagles, symbolises the past and future of the matches and the movement of The Ryder Cup from Medinah to Gleneagles

Olazábal thanked Larson and Graffia, saying: “You have opened your club to us and have been great hosts throughout the two years of planning. We thank you for your welcome and hospitality.”
