The fourth episode of the ‘Countdown to The Ryder Cup’ will air on Thursday September 8 and with the 12 members of the European Ryder Cup team confirmed, preparations are heating up with just three weeks to go until the 41st edition of golf’s greatest team event takes place in Minnesota.

The half-hour programme will be shown on Sky Sports 4 in the UK at 6.30pm and repeats throughout Friday. Much like the team itself, episode four is a blend of youth and experience as Team Europe Captain Darren Clarke delves into the decision making process behind his wildcard picks.

Andy Sullivan, relieved to finally cement his place in the team, looks ahead to his maiden Ryder Cup debut at Hazeltine National, whilst Rory McIlroy relives his own debut as one of six European rookies at Celtic Manor in 2010.

Vice captain Paul Lawrie assesses the added challenge of making your debut on American soil, as he did back in 1999. Plus, Billy Foster, who is set to make a 13th Ryder Cup appearance when he carries Lee Westwood’s bag, reflects on his memories of the biennial contest.

Episode Four of the Countdown to the Ryder Cup airs at 6.30 Thursday September 8 in the UK on Sky Sports 4 and is repeated throughout Friday.
