

• Knowledge of golf and its etiquette is essential for this role.
• There are many different areas and sectors within being a course marshal including static positions, hole captains, travelling marshals, grandstand marshals, media marshals, scoring marshals etc. and all of these roles are covered in applying for a golf course marshal.
• Posted at various key locations around the golf course either static or moving.
• Aware at all times of what is happening at their post but elsewhere on the hole including ball spotting.
• To ensure the players are able to compete without distraction, disruption or disturbance.
• To ensure the travelling media, photographers and associated officials are coordinated inside the ropes.
• Knowledge of the course and areas around them with regards to public facilities.
• Good interpersonal skills, approachable and able to deal with sensitive situations in a tactful manner.

• Competent in the operation of a radio.
• Past experience of Marshaling at other golf events is an added bonus.
