Has enjoyed a long and successful career on the Senior Tour, recording three top ten finishes in 2011, his 17th campaign. Won eight titles during that period, and was the second player to pass €1m in career earnings on the Senior Tour. Claimed the 2005 AIB Irish Seniors Open in association with Greenstar & Fáilte Ireland, which followed his 2003 success in the same competition. His most successful season was 2000, when he won twice and finished runner up twice, en route to topping the Order of Merit and lifting the John Jacobs Trophy. During his days on The European Tour, Ratcliffe won twice - in the 1978 Belgian Open and the 1987 Benson and Hedges International Open, when he eagled the 72nd hole for a memorable victory. Attended college and studied for a pharmacy degree for three years and, prior to turning professional, held jobs in public service and the insurance industry.
