Came close to his fourth Seniors Tour victory and his first since 2000 when he finished second behind Denis O’Sullivan at the 2005 DGM Barbados Open. Won three times in 2000, his best season to date on the European Seniors Tour, and has been a consistent performer since then. One of the straightest hitters on Tour, he turned professional at the age of 50 after a distinguished amateur career during which he finished runner-up to Jerry Pate in the 1974 US Amateur Championship and then went on to represent his country in the 1975 Walker Cup at St Andrews. Also a beaten quarter-finalist at the 1975 US Amateur Championship and went on to compete 19 times in that championship and 13 times in the US Mid-Amateur Championship as well. Continues to be involved in real estate in his home state of Texas.
