Biography

Returned to Qualifying School to gain his card for 2011 having enjoyed his first campaign on the Senior Tour in 2010. A share of 28th position in his final event, the Sicilian Senior Open, was his best result but will be back for another season after claiming the fourth unconditional card at Qualifying School, where he closed with a round of 69. Made the cut in his first Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie in July. Played on The European Tour in the early 1980s but opted to concentrate on his job as the professional at Musselburgh Golf Club in Scotland. Spent the last few years gearing up for the Senior Tour and duly won his playing privileges at the first attempt, claiming the sixth and final full card at 2009 Qualifying School. Has been working to strengthen his back, following a long standing injury. Won the Scottish PGA Championship at Gleneagles in 2002.
