Finished runner up on the Senior Tour Order of Merit in consecutive seasons, first to Peter Fowler in 2011 and then Roger Chapman in 2012. Won his fourth Senior Tour title in the Speedy Services Wales Senior Open and also finished tied third in the Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex at Turnberry. In 2011 he successfully defended the Scottish Senior Open where he eagled the closing hole at Fairmont St Andrews to finish two shots clear of American Gary Koch, before claiming the Casa Serena Open the following month. Won his maiden Senior Tour title in Scotland in 2010 just four events into his Senior Tour career, having finished joint runner up on his Senior Tour debut in the De Vere Collection PGA Seniors Championship. His victory at Fairmont St Andrews came 22 years after also winning his first European Tour title on Scottish soil in the 1988 Scottish Open. Has been balancing life of the Senior Tour with his continued career on The European Tour, where he reached the major milestone of 600 appearances at the 2008 Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy, receiving an appropriate award from the Tour. Is second on the all-time list behind Sam Torrance, who has played in 706 European Tour events. Reached the milestone of 500 tournaments at the Deutsche Bank Players’ Championship of Europe in 2004, just a fortnight after capturing the British Masters title at the Marriott Forest of Arden – his first victory for ten years. His previous four victories came between 1988 and 1994 including the European Masters in 1993 which cemented his place in that year’s Ryder Cup at The Belfry. Won $1 million in the 1995 Accenture World Championship of Golf – a far cry from his early days as a professional, when he went to the Qualifying School on seven occasions before finally making the breakthrough.
