Three top ten finishes in the 2011 represented a solid start to life on the Senior Tour for the Scottish born Austrian national who secured his card at the first attempt at Qualifying School. Finished tied tenth in the Cleveland Golf/Srixon Scottish Senior Open at Fairmont St Andrews, the town where he was born, and followed that up with ninth in the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters and tied eighth in the Fubon Senior Open. Ended the year in 34th position on the Order of Merit. Came tenth at the 2010 Qualifying School having had a two stroke lead after 54 holes but a final round 75 meant he settled for a conditional card. Raised in the north of England, played briefly on The European Tour in the 1980s but moved to Austria in 1984 to take up a coaching job and has lived there ever since. Won twice on the European Challenge Tour in 1993 en route to finishing fourth on the Rankings. Failed to retain his European Tour card the following year but returned to competitive golf on the Senior Tour.
