Spanish club professional Jose Cabo leads after the first round of the Dalmahoy Scottish Seniors Open with a five-under 67. Having double-bogeyed the third, the 53-year-old fired seven birdies before dropping a shot at the last.

Defending Champion David Huish drove poorly for a 76, while former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher finished on level-par 72. The highlight for the top British player, Jim Rhodes (South Staffs), in his round of 68 was an eagle three at the 480-yards ninth.
