Neil Coles, who starts picking up his State pension next month, is challenging for the Dalmahoy Scottish Seniors Open title after a second-round four-under-par 68.

A winner on the European Seniors Tour at Wentworth earlier this month, the eight-times Ryder Cup player lies a stroke behind American Jay Dolan III, who added a second 68 for a 136 aggregate.

Coles, who fired six birdies, made several saving putts on a perfect day for scoring.

Holder David Huish (N. Berwick) missed the cut(+3) by a shot.
