England's Mike Slater scored his third course record in little more than a month with a six under par 66 and a share of the first round lead in the Ordina Legends in Golf Dutch Seniors at Prise d'Eau near Tilburg.
His feat was matched by Ireland club professional Arnold O'Connor and Australian Terry Gale, the trio setting up a one-stroke advantage going into the second round.
Slater, a 15-stone professional from the Portal club at Warrington, also set new course lows in the De Vere Seniors Classic at Ferndown (64) and the PGA Seniors at the Belfry (65).
He struck a sand wedge to 6ft at the 394-yard 18th for the last of seven birdies yesterday, his only blemish being a bogey six at the 12th where his drive was buried in rough.
He said: "I just played very well again. This time I hope I can keep it going and win." He is looking for his first victory in two years on the European Seniors Tour after two third places last year and a fifth and third this season.
O'Connor, 53, has not made many cuts this year, but he needed only 26 putts in accumulating seven birdies and just one bogey - a five at the first where he missed a green for the only time in the round.
American senior rookie Jerry Bruner leapt into second spot with three birdies over the last four holes for a 67.1st Round Scores
