American Curt Cox shot to the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the Belfry PGA Seniors Championship on Saturday. His six-under par 66 leaves him with a 140 aggregate, just 1 shot ahead of his three closest challengers Diniz, Leonard and Stanley.
But there was drama at the PGA National Course as overnight leader Sid Denham was disqualified after losing his ball with his second shot at the par-five 10th. He assumed it had gone into a ditch marked as a water hazard and took a drop under penalty.
But tournament director Iain Burns ruled that in the absence of 'reasonable evidence' that the ball had gone into the ditch, Denham should have declared the ball lost and gone back to where he hit his second, under penalty of one stroke.
