The course has had a lot of rain in the last two weeks, but has taken it well. The conditions should help the 'linksy' feel of the course for the tournament.
The course tends to play easier than it looks, but it is important to be accurate from the tee. There is little water, but 130 pot bunkers are well placed around the course.
The course is the only Nick Faldo design in mainland Europe. It hosted the 1998 & 99 German Open and the Eisenhower Trophy in 2000 and is a classic design in traditional stlye.
