Australia’s Noel Ratcliffe fired a fantastic three under par final round 68 to claim the £3,000 Hardys Super Senior Prize at The Senior British Open Championship, presented by Aberdeen Asset Management.
The 60 year old from Sydney, who plays on the European Seniors Tour, closed with a four round total of seven over 291 to take the prize as the leading player aged 60 and over.
Four strokes back was another member of the European Seniors Tour, American David Oakley, who had to settle for the £500 second prize after following up his 65 on Saturday with a two over 73. The 60 year old finished on 11 over 295.
The £300 third prize was shared by 62 year old Japanese golfer Isao Aoki and 60 year old Englishman Maurice Bembridge, who both closed on 14 over 298.
Hardys, the leading Australian wine brand, also sponsored the hole-in-one competition and gave away 223 bottles of wine to Welshman Tony Price and England’s Nick Job, who both aced the 223 yard third hole on day one.
