The Hilton in The Hague will be the Official Hotel of the inaugural Van Lanschot Senior Open from July 9-11 when the European Senior Tour returns to The Netherlands for the first time in nine years.

Senior Tour players will be offered accommodation in the hotel after Hilton signed a contract to be an Official Partner of the Van Lanschot Senior Open for two years.

Jan van der Putten, Cluster General Manager of the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam & The Hague, said by supporting the Van Lanschot Senior Open the Hilton intended to help promote the city of The Hague.

He said: “The fact that we can host some of the world’s best international senior golfers fits in with our aim to offer the highest level of hospitality worldwide. Our hotels offer the exact environment that these athletes need to perform their best.”

The Van Lanschot Senior Open will be played at The Royal Haagsche Golf and Country Club – more commonly known simply as The Hague – which was founded in 1893 and is located six kilometres north of the city of The Hague.

It is the first time the Senior Tour has visited The Netherlands since 2001, when Australian David Good won the Legends in Golf at Crayestein Golf.

The Royal Haagsche Golf and Country Club hosted the first Dutch Open in 1912 and then on 18 subsequent occasions in the period up to 1981.
