Former Masters Tournament winner Vijay Singh shares 14th place after the first round of the 2018 Masters Tournament, signing for a first round of 71, one under par.
The Fijian, who won the Green Jacket in 2000, made an incredible start at Augusta National, birding the first, second and fourth holes to sit three under par. He made the turn one under after consecutive bogeys on the sixth and seventh holes.
He reached three under par again after birdies on the 11th and 13th holes, but had to settle for a first round of 71 with bogeys on the 14th and 18th holes.
Fellow Green Jacket winners Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle and José María Olazábal also made encouraging starts to this year's Masters Tournament as they signed for rounds of 74, two over par.
Lyle, celebrating the 30th anniversary of his historic Masters victory, was one of four players to make eagle at Augusta National on Thursday. The Scot struck his second shot 228 yards to the 15th green and then holed a 36-foot putt for a three on the par 5.
Langer, winner of the Masters Tournament in 1985 and 1993, made the turn one over par and then signed for a 74 after a bogey on the 18th.
Fred Couples, winner of the Masters in 1992, signed for a first round of 72, level par. The winner of the 2012 Senior Open Presented by Rolex will return to the United Kingdom in July for this year's Championship on the Old Course at St Andrews.
