The oldest Senior Tour event returns to De Vere Slaley Hall for the third consecutive year, with a home champion triumphing in each of the past two editions at the Northumberland resort. Carl Mason claimed the title last year – his third victory in the Championship – with compatriot Gordon J Brand winning the previous season after defeating his namesake Gordon Brand Jnr in an epic six hole play-off. Mason fired a final round 69 to hold off Paraguay’s Angel Franco and South African Christopher Williams, who tied for second. The PGA Seniors Championship was first played in 1957 and is the only Senior Tour event aside from the Senior Major Championships to take place over four rounds.
