Angel Fernandez’s lead in the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open was slashed from five shots to one by midway through the final round as Australian Peter Fowler closed ground.

The Chilean, who opened with two flawless rounds of 61 and 63, took a five shot advantage into the final round at Golf Club Bad Ragaz, but was two over after eight holes after making his first mistake of the week.

A double bogey at the par four eighth represented Fernandez’s only dropped shots, while Fowler was four under after eight to sit one shot back.

Austrian Claude Grenier and Scotland’s Andrew Oldcorn were both at ten under – four off the lead – having reached the eighth hole one over and level par respectively.
